New Accolades for Mode5

IT and Cloud Solutions Leader Mode5 Earns Accolade as a Best Place to Work and Recognition on the 2023 Managed Service Provider 500 List

Virginia Business Magazine and Best Companies Group has named Mode5 as the 17th Best Place to Work in Virginia among small companies (15-99 employees). That ranks MODE5 as #2 in Hampton Roads and #1 in Norfolk, where the Managed IT and Cloud Solutions firm is headquartered.

CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has also named Mode5 to its 2023 Managed Service Provider (MSP) 500 list in the Pioneer 250 category. The list identifies those industry-leading service providers in North America who are driving a new wave of growth and innovation through forward-thinking approaches to managed services.

For the 2023 Best Places to Work in Virginia award, the sponsors surveyed employees of one hundred companies, divided into three categories - small, midsize (100-249) and large (250 or more) - on their core values, leadership and planning, culture, communication, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with leadership, training, benefits and pay, and overall satisfaction.

“We are very proud of this recognition,” says Luke Downing, President of MODE5. “It reflects that our employees not only recognize our core values and mission to put people first and deliver trusted technologies and high value services but that we are also meeting them in a way that allows them to succeed and advance in this exciting field.” Downing adds that among popular amenities for staff is an extensive Paid Time-OFF (PTO) program and a commitment to a positive work environment that encourages individual growth through training, education, and development.

To be considered for participation, applicants had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity,

  • Be a publicly or privately held business,

  • Have a facility in the state of Virginia,

  • Have at least 15 employees working in the state of Virginia, and

  • Be in business a minimum of 1 year.

Companies from across the state participated in a two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. The first, 25% of total evaluation, consisted of evaluating each nominee’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part, or 75%, included a survey to measure the employee experience.

The rankings were announced during an in-person awards luncheon held on February 3, 2023, at the Boar’s head Resort in Charlottesville.

Additionally, Mode5 was recently ranked by Channel Futures MSP 501 as #29 in the world for Best Managed IT Services Providers as well as #1 in Virginia.
